Winnipeg's New Wedding Venue - Modern Styled Shoot at Novella

All of my styled shoot dreams came true with this shoot. As often happens, our plans changed and we were forced to postpone at least once, but it all came together, in the end, better than I ever imagined. Amanda and I had been chatting about this shoot since fall 2021.

We were so very thrilled when Mercedes from Maison Corazon joined in to provide and style outfits for our brides. She also included a few heart pins from Meg Does Pottery to complete the looks.

Winnipeg engaged couple (and content creators) Mackenzie and Sam enthusiastically also said yes to our little proposal to model for this modern wedding inspiration with touches of rock-and-roll.

Below you will find a full list of credits and links for our wonderful, queer-friendly collaborators. Celebrating 2SLGBTQ+ love was at the center of this shoot.

The brand new wedding venue at Collective Event Rentals, Novella at Collective, hosted the shoot, and Collective Event Rentals and Simply Perfect Decor provided rentals that styled their magical space.

Note the indulgent, traditional piping of the cakes from Chocolate Zen Bakery. My only regret from shoot day is that I didn’t get to try the cake because I was so busy behind the camera catching this magic. Sigh. I guess I’ll just have to order my own little torte from them to celebrate!

Rae + Dot Studio really captured a timeless, modern feel with their stationery, and even included the couple’s names on the wedding invitation and my name on a place card. I heart these lovely paper goods.

Prep Hair and The Artist Groupe provide hair and makeup, respectively, for our gorgeous models, with hair pieces and jewelry provided by Luna and Stone. And the fun sunglasses you see are from G is for Glasses. It all came together beautifully.

What is better than one bridal bouquet? Two! The florals were designed and provided by The Floral Fixx, who never disappoints. The altarpieces were breathtaking and don’t even get me started on the table! Stunning.

Behind the cameras were myself and Kirsten from Evergreen Films, who captured the magic on video.
