Flower-Bearded Groom Marries Blushing Bride

It’s becoming a tradition for me to return to Kinloch Grove during the last weekend of July to capture some mid-summer wedding goodness. This year it was to celebrate with Leah and Garrett.

The pair said a very quick “I Do” in the clearing dedicated to wedding ceremonies at Kinloch Grove. Garrett, the flower-bearded groom, watched Leah walk down the grassy aisle with tears brimming in his eyes. They had chosen to forego a first look on their wedding day in favor of seeing one another for the first time that day surrounded by their closest friends and family. The couple’s two French bulldogs were charged with bringing rings to their parents and with the help of the Bark Wedding Date team, they absolutely rocked their short ceremony appearance.

Vintage touches were strategically sprinkled throughout the event setup, including an audio guest book using a blush rotary phone that recorded guest greetings for the couple. Kinloch Grove’s dark, wooden harvest tables and white Chiavari chairs filled the center of their spacious clear top tent, leaving room for a dance floor at one end of the tent, and buffet tables on the other end where Charisma of India served a delicious reception meal.

Garrett wore a three-piece blush suit and Leah a spaghetti-strapped gown with a full skirt from 7th Avenue Bridal. The delicate neckline of her dress showcased the collection of tattoos that make up her upper chest and shoulders. Leah carried a truly stunning bouquet crafted by Academy Florist and Garrett’s beard was speckled with loose buds to match.

We stole the bride and groom away twice, once to grab portraits at the Matlock pier and a second time to enjoy a sunset. Blue skies greeted us at the pier as beach-goers yelled their congratulations from their lawn chairs and beach towels. The waxing gibbous moon hung so perfectly behind me that I stopped Leah and Garrett to pose under it before we climbed back into my car to rejoin their guests for a sparkler send-off.

The gasp I gasped when I started to cull and edit this gallery. I was over the fucking moon looking over this magical day with drool-worthy details and the very best humans having the very best evening. This wedding has very quickly become one of my all-time favorites.
